Dear Friends

This November our family will embark on a long-standing dream to live in Southern Patagonian Chile for six months. We will make our base at the Estancia Rio Verde, owned by the Santelices family, 100 km from Punta Arenas. During this time we will immerse ourselves in the agrarian lifestyles, study the food and traditions of the culture, and help run the 14-room Posada Rio Verde (bed and breakfast).

We invite you down during this time. At the minimum we’d love you to be a guest at the hotel and share the traditional lifestyles, foods, and traditions with our family. We hope join some of you on new adventures in our free time, and for those of you who would like more guidance, we can set up a custom guided trip. We will include the food culture in all of our trips.

My husband Christian and I have spent many years guiding, traveling, climbing, sea kayaking, and rafting in South America- we actually met in Punta Arenas while both working for Mountain Travel/Sobek. If we can’t take you where you want to go- we know someone who can.

Christian is fluent in Spanish and in October will be taking his final exam to become fully UIAGM/IFMGA certified. We will be guiding trips through fully insured Aerial Boundaries.

Excursions:
To help you plan your trip here is a brief outline of some of the most scenic and interesting spots in South America. If you are looking for a guided adventure, we can set up a custom trip for you and your family/friends or there are also some group trips we are organizing that you can join. Inca Trail/Machu Picchu / Torres Del Paine Trek – October 19- November 10

• This trip visits both of these inspiring locations. Activities include hiking/trekking, and optional mountaineering and glacier walks.

Ascent of Aconcaugua- Highest Peak in South America
