Sorry to be somewhat out of touch, but things have been really moving along. We are focusing on Stage 1 of the Teton Food Project: Food Census and Outreach Center.

Food Census questionaires are almost done and will be available at Locavore’s Night Out this Friday, April 22, 5-9 at the Wildwood Room.

We have committed to a group called Leadership at Play to help us with Slow Food in the Tetons Strategic Planning process which will be happening in the next 6 weeks (and taking up some time that could otherwise go to TFP, but this process will directly benefit the TFP by helping us be more focused). To this end we have included a couple general Slow Food questions at the end of the Food Census questionaire.

Small Mall is being painted this week, and just got new doors. We hope to have our spaces completely refinished by the end of next week, then we’ll move in. I have ordered 24 square feet of cork for one wall, and have some chalkboard paint for another. We’ll need your help!

Most of you know we got a grant of $2000 from Targhee POW and are applying for Teton Springs grant.

I went to a good meeting with a new group called the Teton Valley Business Development Center and made some awesome contacts with folks there and the idea of Community Food Enterprises was very well received—in fact made the top of the list 8-fold for best idea for new businesses. Made a good contact with a woman from the Idaho Department of Commerce who is dedicated to helping find money and support for our project.

Have had some exciting movement on Locavore’s Sponsorship which is good news for us financially.

Tibby went to a fundraising meeting in Idaho Falls and made some contacts and has lots of good ideas.

So what’s next???

Monday, April 18 4:00-5:30 pm- Event Planning Meeting and Locavore’s Strategy
85 South Main- Small Mall

Discuss strategy/schedule for Locavore’s Table. Would love ALL of you to take a turn so the face of the Teton Food Project is varied.

Outline some events (open house, seed exchange, equipment swap, winter market, chef event) to help promote the project and get folks to fill out questionaires. Would also love to hear from Kim and August re: garden consulting idea.
