I’m off to Italy today for Terra Madre- some new trendy shoes packed in my bag along with piles of bubble wrap for bottles of whatever I can manage to bring home. I feel like I’m getting on a plane at 17 and heading off to college. I don’t know anyone and I’ve never been there, but the thrill of wondering what I will see, learn, hear, and eat is dangerously exciting.

I will be posting news of Terra Madre whenever I can, but I’m happily leaving my laptop at home and going the old fashioned way- pencil and paper in hand. I have come up with two digital cameras (both with suspicious malfuntions) and an old tape recorder. This is a “slow” event afterall.

Meanwhile, check out the Terra Madre Blog. It already has listings from all over the world and will give you a feel from other participants.
