Ok- this is my New Year’s Resolution. 365 days of sustainable action- one thing at a time. But I like 360 for the idea of a full circle and a full turn around one day at a time. And I get a couple of days off.

The first rule is to quit worrying about perfection. I am going to write from the heart and share ideas that I use with my life and my family with the hope that it helps others find sustainable ways to be more sustainable. Is my life sustainable right now? NOT totally, that’s for sure. Some things are great- many need work.

What is sustainability to me? Balance. Balance between all the aspects of our life and how it affects others, the environment, our communities, our health. Obviously food is a big aspect for me, but there are so many other issues. Slowing down. Good parenting, Investing. Money. Friends. Using less resources. Being happy and content with this short life. Community. The outdoors. Physical fitness. Learning. Saying no to consumer culture. Ecogastronomy is one big dent for me, but there is so much more. Like the tag line for Teton Family Magazine- I want to create a “healthy, sustainable community.
