Happy Fall Everyone
As the leaves change, Slow Food in the Tetons is gearing up for some fun community food events that promote local businesses and sustainable food practices. The past few weeks have “shocked and awed” us as far as the global reach of the financial meltdown. I encourage you to consider how quickly and equally out of control a global food crisis could hit the planet due to the modern industrialized food system. Only by becoming more locally self-sufficient will we be prepared for what many experts believe is inevitable. Rather than gloom and doom, though, this harvest season brings hope and inspiration for changes that protect our heritage, our land, our health and our families.

hi Sue! So psyched about these upcoming classes. THe canning and preserving class was fun, I would think the instructor might structure things differently next time but it was a great topic and great handouts, etc. Wish I could come tonight to the pickling class! Hope you do more classes over here in Jackson when possible too – what a great idea to do these topics.
